India's Central Bank Proposes Dynamic Authentication for Digital Payments
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is suggesting that banks and online payment services use alternative authentication methods, such as biometrics, one-time pins, or tokens, to secure digital transactions. The goal is to make authentication more dynamic and harder to fake. Some transactions, like low-value card payments and offline digital transactions, will be exempt from this requirement. Bye bye OTPs?
Telangana Becomes The First State In India To Build Its Own AI Model
The Telangana government is developing an AI model for Telugu. The team collected data from oral sources such as folk tales, songs, local histories, and information about food and cuisine. Training the model on a cluster of NVIDIA’s A100 GPUs took nearly a week. Over 10,000 students participated in translating, correcting, and digitising 40,000-45,000 Telugu folk tales.
This Indian MEITy Backend Startup Successfully Developed AI Chipsets
Indian startup Netrasemi has developed three chips so far to run AI models on the embedded edge. The first chip – Netra A4000 – represents a line of high-performance chips designed with advanced Chiplet (D2D integration) technology. The startup plans to take NetraA2000 & NetraR1000 chips, which will tapeout soon, to customers this year. A good step for India towards being self sufficient with processor chips.
