Daily dispatches from the world of technology.
A very good Friday morning to you! Let's wrap up the week with a bang.
Geek Gossip
#UntamedGrowth - India is the largest market in terms of Meta AI usage, a notable milestone considering the product launched in India just a few months ago. Those Good Morning messages are surely getting more creative, we wonder why…
#VirtualRealityGoneWild - Doordarshan, the Indian government’s media service, is slated to launch AI anchors. Named “Krish” and “Bhoomi”, they will be first restricted to announcing weather forecasts and other government initiatives and may be expanded to deliver more news. Exciting time if you ask us, especially considering how lethargic the government usually is in adopting tech.
#BankingScare - Ransomware attack on a technology service provider has forced payment systems across nearly 300 small Indian local banks to shut down temporarily. The attack affected C-Edge Technologies, a provider of banking technology systems to small banks across the country.
#LaidOffAndStuckOnLinkedIn - LinkedIn is turnout out to be a toxic ex that you can’t let go. So many laid-off tech workers are stuck on that platform, searching for jobs and scrolling for hours. LinkedIn can be a total cesspool of self-promotion and spam. But that’s also where all the recruiters are hanging out. Catch 22 situation.
#AIadoptionslowdown - It's like, these AI projects are just gonna get abandoned, and I'm not surprised! I mean, who's got millions to throw at it? And apparently, it's all just a shot in the dark, no one really knows if it'll work or not.
