Geek Gossip

#AIExploitation - Outlier AI, a subsidiary of Scale AI - a unicorn - has been accused of exploiting workers from India to train AI models. Outlier AI has listed a number of openings for coding experts, which is accessible for countries like India. But Indians with Master’s degree are getting paid $7.5 / hr while somebody residing in the US with much less qualifications than their Indian counterparts is earning $40 / hr.

#TechBubble - Have you seen the AI stocks lately? They've made a reported $10 TRILLION in market cap since ChatGPT launched. But here's the thing, earnings forecasts have only gone up by like 25%. It's like, investors are priced in on seriously optimistic growth expectations, and at some point, that's gotta pop!

#MalwareMageddon - Cybercriminals use Facebook business pages and advertisements to promote fake Windows themes that infect unsuspecting users with the SYS01 password-stealing malware. The threat actors also promote fake downloads for pirated games and software, including 3D image creator and One Click Active.
