Agnikul, a Chennai-based startup, successfully 3D printed and launched a single-piece rocket engine within 72 hours, achieving a suborbital test flight. This innovative approach aims to enable on-demand, low-cost launch services for small satellite operators, significantly reducing manufacturing time and costs.
You know how Meta wants to use AI to better understand European languages and cultures? Well, the European regulators have put the brakes on that plan. Meta agreed to stop training its AI models on EU users' Facebook and Instagram posts after complaints from data protection agencies in 11 European countries. This means Meta won't be able to use your public posts to train its neural networks - but people outside the EU will still have their public posts used for training.
Today, The New York Times notified some of its freelance contributors that their personal info was exposed in a breach that happened in January. The breach included names, phone numbers, emails, and more, which was stolen from their GitHub repositories. A group of hackers used an exposed token to get into the NYT's GitHub account and steal the data, which was later leaked online.
You might want to know about this recent incident in Turkey where a prospective university student was arrested for developing an elaborate scheme using AI and hidden devices to help them cheat on an important entrance exam. The student used a camera disguised as a shirt button, connected to AI software via a router hidden in their shoe, and an earpiece to receive answers. They were caught and now facing trial.
A report from Fortune says the new Alexa has some serious growing pains. Amazon responded to these claims saying the details provided by employees were dated and didn’t reflect the current state of the Alexa LLM. But something is definitely not adding up.

Employees claim that Paytm is forcing them to resign, instead of terminating them. PayTM is an Indian FinTech company. The Employees claim that HR personnel informed them that their services were no longer needed and that they should resign from their jobs. Paytm has refuted all claims and said it has rigorously ensured that its HR teams have informed employees about their termination through official channels only.
