#EmployeesGoneRogue - Youtube apparently has a loyalty problem - a BIG ONE. It’s own employees are viewing videos scheduled to get public beforehand. The result? Amazon giveway gift cards already being redeemed. Playstation’s event lineup leaking before it launched. Trailer screenshots shared before the actual trailer is released. Google swears they're on top of it, but honey, we know better. They're like kids in a candy store with no self-control!
#EvenMicrosoftIsNotImmune - Microsoft India's X account got hijacked by some crypto scoundrels pretending to be Roaring Kitty! With a fancy gold checkmark, they tricked followers into a shady website promising GameStop crypto. Spoiler: it's a trap to drain wallets. Who knew Microsoft's account could be such a playground for scammers? Even the SEC and Hyundai weren't safe.
#AINeedsABreakToo - AI apocalypse much? ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity all decided to take a coffee break at the same time. While Google’s Gemini managed to stay awake, it might have dozed off briefly too. Looks like our trusty AI friends couldn't handle the early morning rush.

The project looks for product defects before they ship. Amazon's Project PI leverages generative AI and computer vision to detect product defects, such as damage or incorrect color/size, before shipping. Active in several North American warehouses, the system scans items, isolates defects, and tracks root causes. Human employees review flagged items to decide if they should be discounted or donated. Additionally, Amazon uses AI to analyze customer feedback to improve product quality and labeling accuracy.
Microsoft announced layoffs affecting around 1,000 employees, including those in the HoloLens 2 and Azure 'moonshots' teams. This restructuring follows a previous reduction of over 10,000 employees. Do Not Repeat Yourself (DRY). In this post, Dan Maksimovich discusses the pitfalls of applying the "Don't Repeat Yourself" (DRY) principle too early. Premature abstractions can lead to complex code changes. Instead, consider if the code duplication is truly redundant or just superficially similar. It's often better to keep behaviors separate until clear patterns emerge, avoiding unnecessary coupling of potentially divergent logic.
