India Develops First Indigenous MRI Machine
India has developed its first indigenous Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine to be installed at AIIMS-Delhi by October this year. The machine is expected to cut MRI costs for patients by around 50 per cent.
Launch Of 3 New Airlines In India
Probably not a tech news per se, but something that could give boost to Aviation Tech. India's aviation industry is getting a boost with 3 new airlines launching in 2025 - Air Kerala, Shankh Air, and Alhind Air. They'll improve regional connectivity and offer competitive pricing. Air Kerala will be India's first ultra-low-cost carrier, while Shankh Air will be UP's first scheduled full-service airline.
India Ditches "Google Tax"
The lower house of India's parliament on Tuesday passed the nation's budget for 2025, after making a last-minute change that removed a tax on digital ads. The tax is called an equalization levy, and since its introduction in 2016 has seen non-resident companies required to pay 6 percent of earnings derived from digital advertising. The measure was nicknamed the "Google Tax" and according to Indian media raised INR 3,343 Cr ($390 million) in the last financial year.
Apple Announces WWDC 2025 Dates
Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference, or WWDC, will be held online only from June 9 to June 13. All four days of the conference will beheld online, with free access for developers and students. In 2025, Apple is expected to announce a big iOS revamp.
